In the context of the NWO Joint Scientific Thematic Research Programme Smart Energy for Smart Cities, the project on Beijing Groningen Smart energy cities has been admitted to financing. The goal of the project is to increase awareness of energy and understand citizen behaviour across countries. Partners of the project are: the University of Groningen represented by two research groups, Distributed Systems group and Environmental Psychology group, and the Institute of Industrial Economics from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
