Master student Brian Setz won one of the four SURF's Innovatieregeling Duurzaamheid & ICT grants. The "Innovatieregeling Duurzaamheid & ICT 2015" is an initiative led by SURF in order to stimulate innovative ICT projects on the topic of sustainability. The grant amounts to €10.000. The winning project, titled Games of buildings, aims at increasing sustainability within the buildings of SURF members, such as the University of Groningen. This sustainability increase shall be achieved by creating a social network of buildings in which occupants compete with the occupants of other buildings on the topic of sustainability. Occupants of these buildings are motivated to contribute by applying gamification techniques to promote sustainable behaviour.
