Software Engineering and Architecture Group

The research group Software Engineering and Architecture is part of the Johan Bernoulli Institute for Mathematics and Computing Science. The group carries out research in the areas of Architectural knowledge, Architecture Reasoning Process, Technical Debt, Architecting Critical Embedded Systems, and Quality Metrics and Analytics. The group aims to contribute in architecting industrial software-intensive systems that meet quality standards by carrying out joint research projects with industrial partners and other research institutes, thus combining academic know-how with industrial practice. Currently, the SEARCH group is composed of two faculty members, one lecturer, one postdoc and thirteen PhD students (including industrial and external PhD students). The group demonstrates a high number of awards (including the institute’s most innovative teacher), keynote and invited talks, editorships and international conference chairs. The high impact of the group in terms of citations in Google Scholar place the group among the top groups in its field.
