Chapter 1: Introduction
Exercises
The exercises for Chapter 1 are added, for convenience, in a single PDF document.
Prerequisites: These exercises do not require any specific technical knowledge, nor do they require having read any parts of the book except Chapter 1. They come mainly in the form of short essays.
Aims: The provided exercises are intended to test the overall understanding of the student of the aims and scope of data visualization. A second aim is to let students discover themselves, by means of sample scenarios, which are several of the key problems that visualization is faced with. Finally, the exercises aim to further refine this understanding by providing teacher feedback on the answers.
