Chapter 7: Tensor Visualization

Exercises

The exercises for Chapter 7 are added, for convenience, in a single PDF document.

Exercises Chapter 7

Prerequisites: These exercises do require a good understanding of the main tensor visualization methods presented in Chapter 7. Several such exercises require a fair amount of understanding of principal component analysis (PCA) as well as interpolation issues discussed in Chapter 3.

Aims: The provided exercises are intended to test the overall understanding of the student of the concept of a tensor field (elements of a tensor matrix, principal component analysis), and visualization challenges related to tensors. Secondly, the exercises test the student's knowledge related to the design trade-offs and limit cases of the main tensor visualization algorithms presented in Chapter 7.
