Colour Filters and Hyperconnections

Here we discuss how the filters discussed can be extended to vector and tensor images. The notion of flat-zone-based filters is put forward and these are generalized to semi-connected and hyperconnected filters. The latter class of filters is shown to cover a vast range of filters discussed in the tutorial, and views morphological filters as non-linear, over-complete dictionary-based filters, in which filtering is achieved by first expressing the image in terms of a dictionary of visual words, and then removing all the unwanted ones.
