The paper “Trainable COSFIRE filters for vessel delineation with application to retinal fundus images” is in the TOP-1% of highly cited papers in Computer Science.
The vessel selective COSFIRE filters, called B-COSFIRE, that we proposed in this paper are applicable to for the detection of any kind of line pattern in images (e.g. roads and rivers in aerial images, the nerves of leaves, cracks in walls or street, etc.).
Together with the paper, we released the code that is public available on Matlab Central (here the link).
