Dmitri Shostakovich, probably the most compelling voice in Twentieth Century Russian music, has been gone for less than twenty years, yet his music and his life have been the subject of a great deal of new thinking and research. I hope to make this page a good place to turn for current information on Shostakovich and his music. I have also included links to others with similar pages.

My thanks to all those who have shown their appreciation and given their input. It's heartening to know how many people out there love Shostakovich's music like I do. Please let me know what you like, dislike, or would like to see on this page. Email me at rhudson@uta.edu.

Note: These sounds are in AIFC format, which works for Mac users but probably not anyone else. As soon as my classes are over for the semester, I'll try to put them in .au or .wav formats as well. I'll try to rotate new sound files, as often as I can.
