When you're one of the few to land on your feet What do you do to make ends meet? Teach (c)
In the department of Computing Science I am responsible for courses in the following disciplines:
· Imperative programming (in Pascal) (for computing science students, but also for students from other disciplines)
· Object oriented programming (in Java)
· Object oriented analysis and design (UML and Unified process)
· Projects in software development (for second and third year bachelor students in computing science: teaching them to work in a large team (about 8 – 10 students), being a member of a fictive ict-company, handling projects coming from real companies)
· Student colloquium (for first year master students computing science: teaching how to write, present and review a scientific paper. Students are participant in a fictive congress)
· Simulation techniques
· Others:
o Communicative skills (how to write and present, how to cooperate in and manage large teams, how to present scientific work, etc.)
o Working with a digital learning environment (Blackboard)
· Commercial courses:
o Course on Object oriented techniques for PTS in Bussum (three modules: OO analysis, OO design, OO programming; each module is six half days, to be given for junior programmers of PTS)
· Organization education conference NIOC 2004 in Groningen (as secretary of NIOC and member of the organizing committee, see NIOC2004)
All current courses have digital material available through the digital learning environment Nestor (unfortunately, only restricted access).
