We use Novell Zenworks Imaging to clone Ubuntu Karmic. ZenWorks puts default permissions on the roots of the filesystems it copies, instead of what the actual partitions were. It also mangles the partition table, with one partition ending up overlapping another. And it has no way to create a valid boot sector on a cloned PC.
But I wrote an ad-hoc shell script that fixes these fails. Just mail if you want it.
